Professional Experience:
Mr. Raymond CHEN previously served in a large-scale insurance company for more than ten years, during which he was mainly engaged in claims handling, subrogated recoveries and legal matters, accumulating considerable experience dealing with maritime insurance, property insurance, engineering insurance, liability insurance, guarantee insurance and other insurance & reinsurance cases. Raymond CHEN is determined to make effective use of his expertise and experience to provide high-quality legal services during the process of communication between China and all countries around the world, for the purpose of taking social responsibilities in and contributing to the economic prosperity, reform and opening-up of China. He started practicing as lawyer in the area of foreign-related commercial business in 2015. Throughout his career as a lawyer, Raymond CHEN has provided general counsel services to dozens of companies, and also has represented Chinese and foreign clients in more than 200 arbitrations as well as litigations in the area of Admiralty & Maritime Law, Insurance law, domestic and international trade law, etc. Raymond CHEN’s representative cases include cases of disputes over collapse of Jiujiang Bridge after allision with vessel, collapse of Hongqili Bridge after allision with vessel, MT “QUEEN I” collision with MT “EUROPEAN SPIRIT”, reinsurance contract claim regarding Hua Electronics Factory, marine insurance contract claim regarding total loss of the yacht “Winnie”. Notably, the “Winnie” is published by the Supreme People's Court as one of Ten Model Maritime Trial Cases of China in 2020.
